Port of Baku

Rail Cargo

There is currently a fully functioning Ferry Terminal at Alat where we receive and dispatch rail cargo. In 2014, the Ferry Terminal received more than 60,000 wagons. Rail transport to and from Port of Baku is fast, efficient, reliable and sustainable. There are three main international rail routes in Azerbaijan which all converge at Alat: to the northwest, passing through Baku and then on to south Russia; to the west, passing through Georgia to the shores of the Black Sea; and to the southwest and then west into western Azerbaijan and then onto Turkey. The ferries sail to and from Turkmenbashi and Aktau, where the wagons are linked to other global destinations. Rail is ideal for transporting your cargo rapidly across long distances and it offers a good solution for transporting large volumes quickly and efficiently.
