The Port of Baku in Alat has 2 ferry berths and 2 Ro-Ro berths, providing much-improved passenger and cargo facilities. On 7 August 2017, the President of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev signed an order to provide 10.2 million Azerbaijani manats (AZN) to fund the construction of new state-of-the-art passenger terminal to improve passenger service and increase maritime tourism.

Departures from the Port of Baku are flexible and convenient. The port is within 70 km of Baku where all major rail and road networks from all parts the country intersect. The roads are well maintained and there is a parking area and clear guidance at the port for those arriving using private vehicles. Passengers using the services of the Port of Baku are provided with new and convenient shuttle buses in Baku-Alat-Baku directions.
