Japanese Ambassador in Azerbaijan visits the Port of Baku
Today H.E. Mr. Watanabe Katsuya, Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan, paid a courtesy visit to the Port of Baku. During his visit, Ambassador Watanabe engaged with port leadership and representatives in Alat to discuss current and prospective partnership areas.Ambassador Watanabe Katsuya underlined Azerbaijan's strategic role in bridging Central Asia with Europe, highlighting the Port as a pivotal gateway for the country's economic development.
Key highlights of the visit also included discussions on collaborations between the Embassy,JICA, and other Japanese institutions aimed at fostering new cooperation in green hydrogen, software, and digitalization. The visit also acknowledged the ongoing engagements by Japanese institutions and businesses with the Port of Baku. During the tour of the port facilities, the delegation also visited the RoboPort STEM Lab and observed Japanese sakura trees planted near the Port Administrative Building, a thoughtful gift from the Japanese Embassy in March 2023.
