Within the framework of COP29, a panel discussion titled "Electrified Transport - Next Generation Technology and Energy Solutions for Cleaner Mobility" was held
Today, a panel discussion titled "Electrified Transport - Next Generation Technology and Energy Solutions for Cleaner Mobility" took place within the framework of COP29. At the panel moderated by Taleh Ziyadov, Director-General of the Port of Baku, Aida Badalova, Adviser to the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, Fabio Passaro, Senior Analyst of the Climate Bonds Initiative, and Combiz Abdolrahimi, Vice President and Global Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy at “ServiceNow,” delivered speeches.
The panel discussion started with the opening speech of Taleh Ziyadov, Director-General of the Port of Baku. Touching on the topic of hydrogen cars and electric vehicles, he emphasized that this field is in the attention of the global community and occupies an important place in the energy transition. The Director-General stated that discussions on how transportation will change in the future regarding smart cities and modern urbanization are actively being conducted. At the same time, he emphasized the great potential of using AI (artificial intelligence) in the automotive industry.
Combiz Abdolrahimi noted that the electric vehicle market will grow rapidly in the future and the market share of private companies will increase. He emphasized that these changes will create more opportunities in the transport sector.
Fabio Passaro, noting that electrification of transport is inevitable, stated that this transition is of positive importance in the fight against climate change. The next panelist, Aida Badalova, emphasized that the Azerbaijani government pays great attention to this issue, and that new electric buses and cars have been brought to the country. She also point out that preference is given to vehicles that cause minimal damage to the environment and drew attention to the current progress in this field. In addition, it was noted that on October 7, 2022, a project aimed at “Strengthening Road Safety in Azerbaijan” was started with the support of the European Neighborhood Instrument. The discussions involved a wide exchange of views on the future of electrified transport and green energy solutions.
