A delegation led by Yuan Xiaojun, Director-General of Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co., Ltd and General Secretary of Xi’an Chanba International Port Management Committee, visited the Port of Baku to familiarize themselves with the work to be undertaken at the Intermodal Cargo Terminal, which will be jointly constructed by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and China.

During the visit, Sohrab Ismayilov, Deputy Director-General of the Port of Baku, informed the guests about the port's cargo handling potential and the infrastructure projects being implemented.

During the meeting, discussions were held to determine future targets for mutual cooperation, and the importance of increasing cooperation between the parties to increase the cargo volumes of the Middle Corridor was emphasized. The parties exchanged views on new projects that will play a major role in the development of logistics in the region and will affect the increase in the volume of cargo transported from China to Europe and vice versa by passing through our country.

It should be noted that on November 12, 2024, the Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC, Kazakhstan Railways JSC and China's Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co., Ltd signed an agreement on the establishment of an enterprise for the construction of a new Intermodal Cargo Terminal in the territory of the Port of Baku.
