Certificates of Appreciation were awarded by H.E. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to the port employees who actively engaged in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Baku from November 11-22, 2024
This significant moment once again emphasized our country's role in global climate policy and our port's activity in the field of international cooperation. Director-General Taleh Ziyadov noted the active participation of the Port of Baku and a number of important initiatives during this period. Within the framework of COP29 Azerbaijan, the launch of the first project integrating Azerbaijan's solar energy with the BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) system, a collaboration between the Port of Baku and Malaysia's Tiza Green Energy, was mentioned.
At the same time, within the framework of COP29, the importance of the construction of the Intermodal Cargo Terminal at the Port of Baku, with the participation of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and China, as well as the establishment of the Caspian Center for Climate and Resilience, was specifically emphasized.
