ADY delegation participates in international forum in China

A delegation led by the Deputy Chairman of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC (ADY), Arif Agayev, took part in the 2nd International Cooperation Forum of the China–Europe Express Railway (“China–Europe Express Railway Cooperation Forum”).
This forum is one of the key international platforms for discussions aimed at supporting the sustainable development of freight transportation along the China–Europe route, strengthening transport connectivity between Asia and Europe, as well as advancing the “Belt and Road” initiative.

In his speech at the forum, Arif Agayev stated that Azerbaijan regards China not only as a strategic trade partner but also as a reliable ally in the field of transport and logistics. The ADY Deputy Chairman noted that the joint implementation of infrastructure and multimodal projects makes an important contribution to strengthening interregional ties, accelerating logistics processes, diversifying routes, and increasing the export–import potential of participating countries.

In addition to participating in the forum, the delegation, which also included the Director of “Baku International Sea Port” CJSC, Eldar Salahov, and the Deputy Head of the Marketing and Tariff Policy Department of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC, Natiq Rasulzade, held meetings with senior representatives of China’s “Cosco”, “Huawei”, and “CCCC” companies. During these meetings, the sides discussed cooperation prospects and possible joint steps aimed at enhancing regional freight transportation and digitalization.

The general discussions held within the framework of the event focused on increasing the efficiency of the China–Europe Express Railway corridor, expanding freight volumes, forming a modern international logistics system, and improving land transport connectivity between East and West. Participants emphasized that creating safe, sustainable, and competitive multimodal transport routes is a key factor for the development of the “Belt and Road” project.

At the conclusion of the forum, the document titled “Joint Initiative on the High-Quality Development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route,” covering areas such as digital data exchange, improvement of tariff policy, increased infrastructure investment, and the implementation of a “green logistics” policy, was signed.
