A delegation led by the President of Port of Trieste, Zeno D'Agostino, visited the Port of Baku. At the meeting, information was provided about the role of the Port of Baku in the Middle Corridor, the port’s infrastructure, measures taken to reduce carbon emissions to zero by 2035, the Green Port concept and new opportunities in the region, and the guests questions were answered.

One of the topics discussed was the various potential directions for future collaboration.

It should be noted that the Port of Baku signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ports of Trieste and Genoa during the Azerbaijan-Italy Business Forum held in Rome in 2020. The Port of Trieste is the largest port in Italy with an annual cargo turnover of nearly 70 million tons, while the Port of Genoa is one of the most ancient ports.
