Port of Baku Hosts Event on Sustainable Development Goals and COP29 Opportunities

The Port of Baku organized a joint event in close cooperation with the UN Azerbaijan and UN Global Compact, Azerbaijan on “Advancing Port of Baku’s Sustainable Development Goals Initiatives and COP29 Opportunities.” Mr. Eugene Seah, COO of the Port of Baku, Ms. Kanako Mabuchi, Head of the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office, Mr. Samir Mammadov, Country Director of the UN Global Compact in Azerbaijan, and other guests attended the event and delivered opening remarks.

The event aimed to discuss opportunities to strengthen partnerships with the UN and UN Global Compact, including pledge projects and other sustainability initiatives. It also explored COP29 opportunities, discussing potential contributions of the Port of Baku towards COP29 and the UNFCCC's objectives.
